AFRICA: BETWEEN LANDSCAPES & TRADITIONS

After series dedicated to Japan and the Arab world, Touils turns his gaze toward the African continent, the most personal collection he has ever created. Born from a transformative stay on African soil, this body of work is a deeply felt tribute to a continent too often reduced to a single image.

Moved by the richness of its landscapes, the vibrancy of its colors, and the depth of its living traditions, the artist felt an urgent need to translate into paint what he had experienced and felt. Africa made him come alive and it is precisely that feeling he seeks to convey.

2026 From the Okavango Delta to Gorée Island, from the Mursi and Amar peoples of Ethiopia to the baobab forests of West Africa, the series spans the continent's extraordinary breadth. Each canvas is a portal into a world of collective memory, ancestral knowledge, and breathtaking natural beauty.

Broad in its scope, generous in its colors, this series is above all a tribute, one man's journey through a continent that transformed him, and whose light he now wishes to share with the world.creating a dialogue between motion and calm.
